[CV] Depth Estimation (Mono, Stereo), Depth란?

Depth Estimation이란?

- 사진/영상에서 깊이를 그대로 추정하는 것을 의미

- 가까운 부분은 밝은색, 어두운 부분은 보라색으로 나타난다.

 

- Depth Estimation은 Stereo와 Mono가 존재한다.

1. Mono Depth Estimation : 하나의 image만으로 Depth를 추정하는 방식이다.
2. Stereo Depth Estimation :

• Stereo Camera로 찍은 left image와 right image가 필요하다.
• left image와 right image로부터 차이가 얼마나는지로부터 Disparity를 파악할 수 있다. → Depth를 추정

Mono depth estimation 이란?

Mono depth estimation은 CV에서 depth가 포함된 Stereo camera를 사용하지않고 일반 단일 카메라의 이미지로부터 깊이 정보를 추정하는 작업.

 

Mono Depth Estimation Depth 추정 방법

Reconstructure Loss를 사용함으로써, 현재 추정한 left disparity와 rigt image를 활용하여, left image와 비교한다.

비교시, disparity가 큰 경우 Loss를 활용하여, 크게 regularization을 진행한다.

 

위아래 사진을 보면 다른 위치에서 찍은 같은 뷰인데,

멀리있는 곳 일수록 차이가 조금 나고 가까이 있는 곳 일수록 차이가 많이 난다.(disparity)
